Dr. Scott G. Blair
Academic Dean - France
As the Academic Dean for France, Dr. Scott G. Blair ensures that academic policies and procedures are followed and provides support to the faculty to ensure academic program integrity. More specifically, Dr. Blair makes recommendations for faculty appointments, schedules courses, holds regular faculty meetings, manages student and faculty grievances, recommends curriculum updates, and oversees the day-to-day academic activities of the Paris programs.
Dr. Blair has twenty years experience as an instructor, speaker, writer and university administrator, having been affiliated with both French and American University programs in Paris and with numerous community college study abroad programs from across the United States. He has extensive teaching experience in European History, Modern Diplomacy and 20th Century International Relations and has served on the faculties of, among others, the Institut National des Sciences Politiques (IEP), Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO), Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, Schiller International University and the American University in Paris (France). Born at Guantanamo Bay and raised in the Midwest, Dr. Blair's interest in international education began when he was a study abroad student himself in Luxembourg and Paris. He continued his studies in Washington, D.C., and then moved back to Paris for post-graduate research which led to a career in international education.
Dr. Blair holds his Doctorat in History from the Université de Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), an M.A. in European History from Georgetown University (Washington, DC), and a B.A. in English from Miami University of Oxford, (OH).
