CEA and the University of New Haven (UNH) of West Haven, Connecticut, have been partners for over two years and based on a comprehensive academic agreement wherein UNH acts as the University of Record for all CEA GlobalCampus programs.

Signing ceremony for the University of Record Agreement
The University of New Haven, founded in 1920, is a private, comprehensive university located in West Haven, Connecticut. UNH's mission is to prepare career-ready graduates for meaningful roles in today's global economy and to nurture the pursuit of lifelong learning. The university offers more than 80 undergraduate degree programs and more than 25 graduate degree programs, in innovative fields such as sports management, nutrition and dietetics, forensic science, music and sound recording, engineering, computer science, fire science, and criminal justice.
UNH has a full-time undergraduate enrollment of more than 2,000 students and a Graduate School enrollment exceeding 1,700 day and evening graduate students.
As CEA's University of Record, UNH assumes responsibility to monitor all academic
standards from the approval of courses to the appointment of faculty. UNH
also involves its own faculty in all academic aspects of CEA activity, including regular site reviews by faculty.
The agreement follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad,
as articulated by the Forum on Education Abroad, the leader in the field. Moreover, it satisfies
the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor,
The Commission on Higher Education of the New England Association for Schools
and Colleges (CIHE/NEASC). The agreement follows the widely accepted statement
by institutional accreditors on "Policy on Contractual Arrangements Involving
Courses and Programs."
Following the approval of this partnership by the CIHE/NEASC Board on November, 2006, CEA and UHN have continued to improve the standards and procedures that govern the agreement. This means that students can be assured that highly qualified faculty are teaching them abroad and that their academic work will be fairly evaluated and duly transferred to their home institution.

Quotes
Dr. Steven Kaplan, President of the University of New Haven
"CEA's organizational strengths, marketing capacities and student responsiveness
provide a good complement to the academic strengths of UNH. We are especially
excited about the future for CEA's GlobalCampuses, where our active partnership
is focused. The successes of Barcelona, Paris, Madrid, Seville, Rome and Florence, bode well for the future of a global
education network focused on best practices in curriculum, pedagogy and technology."
Brian Boubek, CEO and Chairman, CEA
"CEA has been working for a number of years with a significant number
of accredited partner universities in the United States and elsewhere.
With these diverse partnerships we have been able to grow and expand.
Today we provide educational programs abroad through our partner universities
overseas and, more significantly of late, through CEA's GlobalCampus sites. However,
given our range and complexity today, and the expanding needs for U.S. study abroad in general,
we have been seeking a true educational partner in the United States who can help us provide the
highest quality academic programs abroad."
John D. Heyl
"I have been active in international education for over 30 years as university professor, campus administrator, association leader and author. CEA’s partnership with the University of New Haven is remarkable in both the rigor and care with which both sides support high academic standards, campus internationalization and contributions to the field of international education. The result is a model for education abroad that satisfies the needs of a global learning company such as CEA, the highest standards of a fully committed academic institution such as UNH and the transparent demands of an institutional accreditor (CIHE/NEASC). This partnership is not merely a photo op; it is based on mutual respect, high ethical and academic standards and continuous quality improvement. I believe it is unique in the field of international education."
