The CEA Refer-A-Friend program awards $100 per referral to any CEA alumni whose friends complete a CEA study abroad program. This offer is valid for current, past and future CEA study abroad program participants.
- For each friend (Referee) who completes a CEA program, the CEA Alumni who referred them (Referrer) will receive:
- A check for $100 (Reward), regardless of the program session either student attend.
- The following rules apply to receive this special offer:
- Referrer must provide the full name and either a valid email address or phone number for the Referee at the time of referral.
- The Referee must be referred to CEA by the Referrer prior to the Referee being in contact with CEA or being in the CEA system.
- The Referee must be referred to CEA on or after September 20, 2008.
- For any referrals prior to September 20, 2008 the following applies: Both the Referrer and Referee must complete a CEA program no later than the Spring 2009 Session; this means that both students must begin their CEA program no later than May 2009 for the Referrer to be eligible for payment for that particular referral. If this requirement is not met, then that referral becomes void. Please note that any new referrals on or after September 20, 2008 are still eligible for payout.
- Referrer can refer multiple students.
- Referee can only be referred by a single participant. This is determined as the person who first submitted the Referee to CEA.
- Both the Referee and the Referrer must complete a CEA study abroad program; students who leave early or are dismissed from their program for disciplinary or academic reasons are not eligible.
- Rewards will be distributed by post to the Referrer when both the Referrer and Referee have completed their CEA program. Payout dates are based upon the last student (either the Referrer or the Referee) attending the program as follows:
- Spring Programs – Oct. 15
- Exceptions: Brighton, Australia and Buenos Aires programs – Dec. 31
- Summer Programs – Dec. 31
- Fall Programs – Jun. 1
- Exceptions: Paris programs – Jul. 1
- Referrer cannot have any balance owed to CEA in order to receive the reward. All balances must be paid in full prior to reward distribution. If the referrer has an outstanding balance at the time of reward distribution then the reward will be applied to the outstanding balance.
- Students who receive more than $600 in rewards of any kind from CEA in one fiscal year must provide their social security number to CEA for tax purposes.
- CEA will use the permanent address on file for the Referrer for reward distribution. CEA is not responsible for incorrect or invalid addresses supplied by the Referrer. CEA is not responsible if the reward is mailed to the Referrer, but is never received. All rewards are voided if not cashed within 180 days of the date on the check and a new check will not be cut. - This offer is not valid for CEA employees or CEA employee family members.
- CEA reserves the right to change the Reward and/or Reward amount, the promotions rules, and/or cancel this promotion at any time.
