Transcripts & Security Deposits |
 |
If you've just returned from a CEA study abroad program, welcome back! Here's the information you're seeking about receiving a copy of your transcript and a refund of any remaining Security Deposit fees paid.
- The transcript, Security Deposit and financial clearance process takes about 90 days from the end-date of a program to complete.
- Students who have successfully completed a CEA program and whose accounts are financially cleared are issued one official transcript at no extra charge.
What You Need to Do Next
Upon your return from your program, please follow these steps to begin the process:
- Update MyCEA Account with your current and permanent contact information.
- Complete the online "ReEntry Evaluation" within 30 days of the end-date of your CEA program — while your experience is fresh in your mind. Your feedback helps us to continually improve our offerings, and it's also our way of learning where you'd like any unused portion of your Security Deposit sent.
- Provide CEA with your transcript release request. Most students release their transcripts to be mailed to their home institutions when they first apply to CEA. However, if you did not authorize your official transcript to be sent out or are not sure if you did, please print, complete and submit the Transcript Release Form (TRF).
For Global Campus programs, the University of New Haven will issue transcripts.
Anglo-American University issues transcripts for all Prague study abroad programs.
For programs at any of our Global Partners (local, international universities and schools), transcripts are issued by the foreign institution.
Security Deposits
During the 90-day period following a program (that's three months, by the way, so take a deep breath), CEA receives transcripts from the foreign institutions and invoices for any damages incurred on site. What does invoice mean? It means if you broke the windows in your apartment, or damaged any other CEA property, CEA reserves the right to deduct the cost of damages from your security deposit.
Once your account is financially cleared and your transcript has been processed:
- A refund check for any remaining and applicable portion of your Security Deposit is mailed to the address you provided on your "Re-Entry Evaluation."
- Your official transcript is mailed according to your request on your CEA application or release form. We include a cover letter detailing specific information about the transcript to help your school evaluate credits you will receive for your courses abroad.
Need Additional Copies of Your Transcript?
