I woke up while studying abroad in the ancient city of Rome, I looked out my window and saw the sun was hardly covered by clouds.

Rome’s terraces and balconies serve as a tremendous place to bring people together.

I walked outside on my terrace that overlooked a busy street. The air was warm but had a nice breeze that gave balance to the climate. The cobblestone streets in Rome added an element unlike any other I had to capture.

The narrow streets of Rome serve as part of the identity of a city that has been established for hundreds of years.  

They gave this classic air to a city that’s so rich in history, alongside the smell of cigarettes, croissants, and cappuccinos filling the air. This was my new home for the next three months. 

With a creamy foam on top, the cappuccino is a wonderful start to one’s day in Rome.

Italian Stores

All over Italy, Ferrari is a lifeline. The people of Italy live and breathe the Scuderia.

Throughout the streets of Rome there are stores selling the famous red colors with a black horse. 

As I walked near the Spanish Steps, I was tempted to spend my money on designer clothes that lined the streets around every corner.

Fashion is flaunted on the streets of Rome as there's a wonderful diversity of stores to purchase garments from. 

Italian Class, Elegance, and Cuisine 

And if the stores weren’t high-end enough, the locals dressed in class and elegant attire. This elegance seemed to hold the people of Rome in its grasp as part of its identity.

A glass of wine distributes a feeling of class and elegance. Wine is enjoyed often with one’s dinner in Rome. From red wine to white wine, from heavy to light, one can find their preference. 

Finishing the meal.

Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Italians are thorough with the completion of their food, as you can see. Empty glasses, with mostly empty plates. 

Is there anything as universally famous as Italian gelato?

The universal sign for gelato is photographed as it's an emblem that's used outside nearly everywhere one might purchase this tasty dish. 

Roman Culture and History

The busy Roman streets also highlighted the monumental history that people travel far and wide to see.  

The Trevi Fountain.

Rome also boasts a number of beautiful and extravagant fountains. Pictured above is the Trevi Fountain. With numerous visitors a day, this fountain is less visited by the locals.

Catholicism is another huge part of Italian culture and religion as basilicas serve as not only places of worship but works of art.  

Some consider this pilgrimage a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I, however, consider it home.
