Position Description - Marketing Data Analyst

Department: Marketing
Reports to: Director of Marketing

Position Summary

The purpose of the Marketing Data Analyst position is to enable business managers and strategy teams to make highly effective data-driven, strategic marketing decisions. This position works closely with marketing, admissions, finance and strategy management teams to perform data analyses and ensure data intelligence is disseminated in a timely and effective manner to the required business owners to drive marketing strategy. This position is responsible for all marketing analyses and reporting. Successful candidates are able to interpret business needs, conduct appropriate analyses and translate the key findings into simple, actionable intelligence reports.

Accountabilities

  • Proactively partner with business strategy teams to understand, support & influence daily business decision making as well as long-term business strategy and planning
  • Perform marketing analyses to support timely, effective, data-driven business decisions
  • Design and create accurate and effective reports to support a wide variety of business needs

Activities

  • Develop standardized reports and reporting formats and disseminate to stakeholders
  • Define and report on marketing metrics needed to support the business including but not limited to enabling visibility into the marketing funnel and identifying marketing opportunities for growth or improvement within the and demand generation to graduate life-cycle
  • Measure and report marketing ROI by campaign, media source, target segment, program, term, etc.
  • Track and measure and forecast the lead pipeline
  • Partner with finance and program development teams to provide analysis to support program offering mix optimization
  • Manage data analysis for customer profile and segmentation development
  • Support continuous lead conversion optimization by performing analyses including media buy analysis, web site statistical analysis, segment and pipeline analysis, admissions process analysis and provide recommendations
  • Partner with finance and admissions team to develop demand, lead and enrollment goal/forecasting models to meet business growth objectives
  • Partner with finance to develop pricing models that consider competitive activity, program margins and prospect demand
  • Partner with University Relations team to provide analysis on demand potential and prospect trends as well as determining ROI by university
  • Design and present strategic and ad hoc analysis of campaign performance and present recommendations to strategy teams

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Marketing, Statistics, Math or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in market/data analysis
  • A working understanding of Marketing discipline, especially direct marketing
  • Ability to perform advanced analysis in excel
  • Ability to create easy to understand, highly actionable analysis reports that drive successful business decisions including:
    • Self-serve tools in Salesforce.com
    • Executive summary with key statistics and recommendations
    • Charts/graphs
  • Highly motivated, proactive nature
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Flexible and adaptable amidst a high-paced, ever changing environment
  • Strong ability to deliver results while managing competing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to develop reports in Salesforce.com or other comparable software
