Promoting Safety & Well-Being Away from Home

CEA Global Education has created a comprehensive, industry-accepted network of best health and safety practices to ensure your students’ safety and well-being while enjoying their cultural immersion experience. We are proud of our reputation as a students-first study abroad organization, and we strive to maintain that level of focus and expectation in all of our programs.

Open Communication

Our international on-site staff is experienced and knowledgeable about the host city, its culture and working with study abroad students. On-site staff monitors local authorities, including emergency responder and government agencies, and maintains routine communication with both students and CEA Global Education's headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. In Tempe, CEA's executive team monitors U.S. international relations – including travel advisories – through the U.S. Department of State, our international on-site staff, and a vast network of study abroad providers and professional associations, including NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the Interassociational Advisory Committee on Health and Safety.

Our international staff also is well-versed in our global CEA Emergency Preparedness & Response Plan and the companion Global Campus Emergency Plan. Students receive prior to their program an Arrival Card with the contact information of on-site staff in the host city. The on-site staff is available for 24/7 in the event of an emergency, as well as to assist students in making doctor's appointments. In some cases, a staff member will accompany the student to a doctor's appointment if necessary.

In the event of a Travel Warning, CEA Global Education will e-mail messages to all participants' emergency contacts and home institutions within 48 hours, post a message on the homepage of our Web site, www.GoWithCEA.com, and e-mail SECUSS-L, the major study abroad industry listserv.
