CEA believes it is very important to have a resident staff that works to ensure your well being and that of all CEA students. The CEA Representative in Viña del Mar will:

• Be available to assist you with any difficulties or questions that may arise during your program
• Act as a liaison between you and the administration of the host institution
• Help you make a smooth transition into Chilean culture and educational system
• Closely monitor your academic progress
• Organize a wide range of social and cultural activities

Viña del Mar is truly an amazing place to learn Spanish. Lying along the seemingly endless coast of Chile, Viña is very conveniently located to allow visitors the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent natural wonders that the country has to offer. Santiago, the capital, is a short drive away as are the ski slopes of Valle Nevado high up in the Andes Mountains.

Viña provides the best possible stepping point into a semester or summer of language and culture study in Chile. An array of museums, theaters, cathedrals, shopping, cafes, restaurants, pubs, discos, beaches and parks, and events all around the city will give you the opportunity to experience life Chilean style.

While not a cosmopolitan city, Viña attracts Chileans from all over the country. Because of the relaxed atmosphere of this beach city, Chileans know Viña as a great place to escape with the family from the daily grind as well as to enjoy the fresh, typical seafood dishes it is known for (try the ceviche!).

Chile, known for being geographically one of the longest and most narrow countries in the world, stretches across almost half of the South American continent. As a result it has a great many things to see and experience. The country’s topography ranges from high mountains and arid deserts to beautiful beaches and lakes.

CEA makes it easy for you to experience it all by offering you many opportunities and excursions to get to know the country and its culture. Easter Island also can make a very interesting excursion as well.
