Here's what friends of CEA have to say about Shanghai
Why Shanghai you ask? If you want to experience China, the economic giant, first-hand, there is no better place to be than Shanghai. Shanghai has long been China's financial and trade center and also has a long history of contact with the West. It offers students an exciting educational as well as cultural experience. From challenging language and elective courses taught at a university renowned for its excellence in education, to a bustling metropolis that offers all the latest any consumer would want for while at the same time retaining its old-world charm.
Shanghai is an "exciting world city" rivaling Hong Kong. Shanghai boasts a high level of contemporary culture, including many art galleries, and an international environment that makes the city seem more connected to the outside world than other cities in China. While being a world city, Shanghai is located close to many of China's ancient wonders.
Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) provides a supportive study environment located in a quiet residential neighborhood within this busy and hectic city. Located in the southern part of Shanghai, SHNU is located only about 30 minutes from the city center offering many of Shanghai's major tourist attractions. Many of the school's buildings are built with red brick reminiscent of the East Coast and students can relax in one of the sitting areas shaded by trees and adorned by water features and gazebos.
What better way to experience what this part of China has to offer - a city that is cutting edge and brimming with life, a campus that provides both excellent academics as well as a starting point for venturing out into the city and beyond the city's parameters, and resident staff who will work with you to ensure that your experience in China is unforgettable.
