Academic Focus

This program is designed for students with high intermediate and above language levels who wish to be fully integrated into a Costa Rican university. Become more comfortable with the Spanish language by Costa Rican student community by taking classes with locals in this full immersion program. Choose from Veritas University's full course catalog. Subject areas include Digital Animation, Interior Design, Photography and Architecture. In addition, you may also choose to take an optional Advanced Spanish course should you want to continue to develop your fluency in Spanish.

You will choose either four or five courses. Contact hours for student art courses vary but generally range from between 45 hours per course to 90 hours per course. Typically, students will receive between 3 and 5 credits within the US semester system for each studio art course. The optional Advanced Language course meets for a total of 80 contact hours and is typically worth 5 credits.

Schedule Summary

The number of contact hours for each course varies and may be comprised of a mixture of lectures and studio work. Class meeting times vary across departments and subject areas. Most classes meet once or twice a week.

Course Registration

You will be required to submit your course selections and alternates to the CEA headquarter office prior to departure for San Jose. Final Course Registration will take place upon arrival in San Jose. There are no required courses. To aid in the registration process, it is in your best interest to have courses, including alternates, approved by your academic advisor prior to departure.
