Academic Focus
The Intensive Spanish Language Program at Veritas University allows students of all language levels to focus on language improvement in a short time frame. Your language courses will focus on oral comprehension and expression, listening comprehension and grammar components appropriate to your language level. Programs are offered in 4-week blocks in September, January, and May – August. If you enroll in consecutive blocks during the summer months, you will be tested at the end of each block and may move into higher levels.
Spanish language classes meet for a total of 80 contact hours for each 4-week block, which is generally worth 5 credits in the US semester program.
Schedule Summary
Language courses meet for four hours in the morning, Monday through Friday.
Course Registration
You will take the written portion of the placement exam online 30 – 40 days before the start date of the program. You will take the oral portion of the exam on the first day of class. Final placement in your language class will not take place until after your language level has been assessed onsite. To aid in the registration process, it is in your best interest to have several Spanish Language course levels approved by your academic advisor prior to departure. Any changes to your course selection after registrations have been finalized must be coordinated through the onsite director.
