Here's what Elizabeth has to say about San Jose

San Jose, Costa Rica's capital city, is headquarters of the country's government and political life. It is a cultural center, with activities such as the theatre, museums, churches, markets, and contemporary dance. Dance halls and discos where tropical rhythms vibrate, as well as fashionable pubs are part of San Jose's night atmosphere as well.

Ticos and ticas, as Costa Ricans are called, are very friendly, and you'll find that out just by walking around San Jose, asking for directions, or just sitting down in a park or restaurant.

The city's central location also allows for convenient trips and exploration. Both the Pacific and the Atlantic (Caribbean) coasts are only 2 - 4 hours away, and there are several mountains and volcanoes surrounding the Central Valley where San Jose is located.

Besides attending an excellent Spanish program at Veritas University, CEA students are able to enjoy the country's natural beauties, and well-educated and peaceful inhabitants through CEA organized excursions and social activities. CEA staff is always there to make the students' experience an enjoyable and productive one.

These characteristics make San Jose the perfect place to learn Spanish, learn about the culture, and experience Costa Rica at its best.
