Gerry Kerr
Regional Director of European Programs
Gerry Kerr joined CEA in October 2005 as Eastern European Development Manager and developed new programs in Prague, Berlin, Krakow, St. Petersburg and the French Riviera where he is a resident. For the past 2 years, as Campus Director for Eastern Europe & Southern France, Mr. Kerr has been responsible for program operations including short to long-term planning, overall program quality, host institution relations, local vendor relations, campus income statement management, program improvements and staff management in these locations. Mr. Kerr now serves as the Regional Director for European Programs where he continues to provide leadership for the functions listed above, but in a larger capacity across Europe. Mr. Kerr also plays a key role in supporting CEA's Regional Consultants in the promotion of programs to U.S. universities.
Prior to joining CEA, Mr. Kerr taught English in France and Algeria and held a variety of positions in the study abroad industry, including assistant director for a major U.S. study abroad organization, where he was based in London from 2003-2005, and Resident Director of study abroad programs in France, the Czech Republic and Poland from 1990-2003.
Mr. Kerr earned an M.A. in Slavic languages from Glasgow University in Scotland. He speaks French, Russia, Polish and German. He is a keen runner and has completed 10 full marathons, with a best time of under 3 hours and 30 minutes. He always carries his sneakers on his travels and loves running along the remnants of the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery, along Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, or down the Golden Mile and across Charles Bridge to finish at the CEA office in the historical Mala Strana district of Prague.
