Berlin School of Economics

Berlin School of Economics (BSE)

Formed in 1971, the BSE emerged from the former Academy of Economics which in turn emerged from the merger of the Higher College of Economics and the Academic Institute of Economics in 1965. As its name indicates, BSE’s focus has always been the study of business and economics and it is today one of the largest academic institutions in Germany for business studies and post-graduate management and recognized as one of the top universities of applied sciences. The university also holds an excellent international reputation fostered through its focus on internationalization and almost 60 college partnerships with universities worldwide.

The roughly 5,000 students matriculating at BSE every year benefit greatly from the knowledge and management experience that BSE’s 145 full-time Ph.D. or doctorate-holding professors bring with them. With its specialization in the areas of business and economics, BSE’s study concept guarantees students strong links to business and professional life throughout their studies. The fact that three out of eight Master’s degree programs as well as a multitude of courses in undergraduate programs are taught in English makes the BSE a popular study destination for the approximately 600 international students from over 60 different countries enrolled at the BSE. BSE is located in the Berlin district Schoeneberg, a safe residential neighborhood of Berlin not too far from the city center. The school occupies a six story building with over 300 rooms and seminar facilities as well as a large reference library.

The university offers a variety of services to CEA students including a student ID card, advising at the Office of International Student Affairs, access to 3 computer labs with internet access, Wifi access throughout the university building, a dining hall and student-run café, and university-organized excursions and social activities.
