Amy Gulick
Academic Coordinator
As Academic Coordinator for the CEA GlobalCampus in Florence, Amy Gulick serves as the primary contact for students and faculty regarding all everyday academic issues. This includes maintaining office hours and responding in a timely manner to all inquiries and concerns. In addition, Amy assists the Academic Dean in all aspects of course registration, the coordination of class schedules, classroom use and academic facilities management, the coordination of academic field study, and student services related to the CEA GlobalCampus in Florence. Amy is also responsible for keeping the Academic Dean informed on a regular basis of the progress of the academic program and any issues that need his/her attention.
A native of Sacramento, California, Amy has worked in the field of study abroad in Florence for five years. Before moving to Italy, she worked primarily in the publishing industry, including three years as the editor of the international pages of The American Bar, a legal reference text published out of Sacramento. In Florence, Amy was the student services assistant for two study abroad programs before joining CEA. In her spare time she has worked as the editor and proofreader of The Florentine, a newspaper for the Anglo-American community in Florence, and as writer and translator for Intoscana, the official website of the Tuscan Region.
Amy graduated from CSU, Sacramento with a M.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in English. In 2001 she came to Florence to attend the Cal State International Program, where she completed a Second Bachelor's degree in Italian Studies. The following year she took a CTEFL (Certificate to Teach English as a Second Language) at the American Language Center/Via Lingua in Florence.
