Conversation Exchange
Students can practice Italian with each other or with locals looking to improve their English language skills while gaining first-hand knowledge of each other's culture.
Opera Night
Participate in an incredible evening dedicated to a night at the Opera in Florence with the distinguished orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Wine Tasting Classes
A class on how to appreciate, taste and recognize various wines from some of the best knows Tuscan wine estates with the help of a real wine connoisseur.
Art History Walking Tour
This is a unique opportunity to learn about the many secrets of the art and architecture of the Renaissance art capital of the world, while accompanied by an American art historian and lecturer.
Internships
CEA in Florence has special agreements with the following Florentine organizations:
- two Elementary Schools in Florence for an internship opportunity as Native-Speaking Teaching Assistants for English Classes;
- an Italian Institute for documentary films that holds every year in December a unique international competition in Florence with the best of documentary contemporary cinema. Students will be able to help reorganize their database and assist their office management and staff for their annual review.
These experiences will involve students twice a week for a total of two to eight hours a week, depending on your availability and class schedules. Please note that in order to participate in the above opportunities there is a selection process that involves the CEA staff and the organizations, based upon resumes, interests and a personal interview. A certificate of participation will be issued at the end of each semester.
Pizza School
Students can try making their own pizzas with the help and tips of a real Neapolitan pizza-maker! They will then enjoy their wonderful creations in one of the best restaurants in the Santa Croce area.
Gelato and walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo
Students have the opportunity to taste the world-famous Italian ice cream at one of the best gelato shops in Florence and walk up amongst the Tuscan hills to see one of the most breath-taking views of Florence.
