Student arriving before 6 p.m. on the start date of their program will be greeted at the Amerigo Vespucci (FLR) airport by a friendly CEA representative, who will take you to your CEA housing.

CEA offers an in-depth welcome orientation for the students in your program. CEA staff host a reception, where you'll meet your group, as well as go over what you need to know about living in Florence and attending your host academic institution. Topics will cover a variety of subjects including:

- Housing orientation
- Local customs
- Extracurricular activities
- CEA policies
- Health and safety information
CEA Global Education takes care of administrative and registration processes, as well as payment of tuition fees, at the academic institution in Florence on behalf of students.

Our Florence staff resides and works locally in Florence. They'll meet you at the airport, provide you with valuable information about the city and guide you through acclimating to your new and exciting surroundings.

CEA organizes regular day and overnight trips to culturally and historically relevant destinations outside of Florence, giving you a deeper understanding of Italy as a whole, as well as surrounding sub-cultures, populations and landscapes. Examples include:

- Faculty-led walking tours of Florence
- Museum visits to the Academy Gallery, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Boboli Gardens

CEA's Florence Staff organizes opportunities for you to socialize and interact with your classmates and other Florence students in more casual settings. Examples include:
- Welcome dinner and student introductions
- Aperitivo night
- Bike riding or walks through Florence
- Pizza during midterm and final exam weeks
- Farewell dinner
As a student in Florence you'll have opportunities to meet with locals, share in the Italian way of life, and do some good by volunteering your time and contributing to the community.

- Prepare and serve at a soup kitchen
- Organize a digital archive of art by mentally challenged Florentines

The CEA Global Campus in Florence offers many opportunities for students to actively engage in the local culture through in- and out-of-class activities, tours, lectures and workshops. Examples include:
- Behind-the-scenes visits with local entrepreneurial shops and to Florence’s international fashion trade show
- Exclusive access to restoration laboratories
- Guest lectures by anti-mafia experts and visits to confiscated property
- Hands-on fresco painting and sculpture lessons
- Classes held on location at museums, monuments and piazzas to study works of art in their original contexts
- Student photography exhibit
- Organized Language Exchange with Florentine students to use and hone language skills (and make local friends!)
- Global Campus lectures by local and international experts on topics relevant to Florence, Italy, and study abroad

The CEA office provides you with access to computer labs, language labs, video screening rooms, Internet access and more.

It's important to stay connected while abroad, so CEA has arranged for you to have a cell phone to use during your time in Florence. We've covered the rental and shipping fees and incoming calls are always free, so you only pay for the calls you make! Just be sure to order your phone before you leave home so you can take it with you.

Once you complete your CEA program, you will receive one official transcript as a part of your program price. You may opt to have this transcript automatically sent to your home institution 90 days after completion of your program and payment of any/all outstanding fees.
