Annie's Cove
Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) runs a truly international living complex of 27 four-bedroom houses called Annie’s Cove. Each house is divided into two flats each consisting of two bedrooms, a shared bathroom and shared kitchenette. The complex is located in the Summerstrand district of Port Elizabeth which is located on the coast close to beautiful beaches, many restaurants and bars as well as a boardwalk casino and entertainment center. CEA students will be placed in single rooms with CEA, other international or South African students. While meal plans are not available, each house has a fully equipped kitchenette where students can prepare their own meals. Annie’s Cove is located within walking distance of Summerstrand Campus and within easy reach of two grocery stores as well as a multitude of restaurants. Accommodations at Annie’s Cove are fully furnished and are cleaned weekly. Upon arrival students receive free limited Internet access to use on their personal computer or laptop. The complex is gated for security, has an onsite manager, a nice swimming pool and offsite laundry services available for a fee.

Independent Living
CEA highly recommends that students live in the housing provided. Requests for permission to arrange independent housing must be made no later than the application closure date and be received in writing. CEA onsite directors will not provide assistance with independent housing and will not speak or act on behalf of any student who chooses to pursue such arrangements. Rebates are not granted for students who move out of their CEA housing or choose to pursue independent living arrangements after the application closure date.
