CEA Student Life: Alicante University Services

CEA works to ensure that you have a positive academic study abroad experience. By coordinating with our partner institutions CEA students can benefit from various university services.

University of Alicante

University services available to CEA students include:

• University ID
• This identification card provides access to services and facilities at the University of Alicante. Students will benefit from services such as the internet, computer labs, library services, discounts at the Sports Facilities, and additional discounts for the university community.
• Computer Labs
• There are two computer labs at the University of Alicante.
  • General library - 300 computers
  • Lecture Building 1 - 160 computers
• Library
• The Library offers services such as catalogue, loan, interlibrary loan, reference and bibliographical information. In addition, students can use online or CD-ROM databases, electronic journals and Internet Reading rooms, work rooms, printing machines, microform reader/printer and computing for public use.
• The library opens a reading room 24hours/ 7 days.
• Tutoring Services
• Spanish Professors at the University of Alicante will have assigned tutoring hours for those students that need help in specific areas and/or assistance with their course work.
  • Students will receive this information during the first day of class.
• Student Health Care Services
• The University of Alicante provides primary medical assistance to all international students.
• This service is available on Campus from Monday to Friday.
• Various Dining Facilities
• The University of Alicante has several students unions and cafeterias scattered around campus.
• Sports Facilities (not included in the tuition fee)
• The University of Alicante has a sports area, equipped with indoor and outdoor facilities.
  • Indoors Sports Facilities: Basketball Court, Wall Climbing, Swimming Pool, Gym, Aerobics, dressing rooms lockers.
  • Outdoor Sports Facilities: Athletic track, Tennis & Paddle courts, Basketball, Soccer fields, Rugby and Volleyball courts, etc.
• Post Office
• The University of Alicante has a post office where students can mail letters, buy stamps, ship items or receive money through Western Union service.
• The post office is open in the morning Monday though Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
• Campus Bookstore
• The University of Alicante has a bookstore where students can purchase books, magazines, press, bus-rides, etc.
• Banks and ATMs
• There are several banks and ATM’s on campus for students to take money out, open a Spanish bank account, or exchange money and traveler's checks.
• Wi-Fi area on campus
• Almost the entire University is equipped with wireless internet. These areas are clearly marked with blue signs, and the service is free for all students.
• Digital Photocopier Stores
• The University of Alicante has a Digital Printing store; there are also special students rates.
• In addition, there are copyist areas on campus, commonly known as Copisterias, where students can print out copies or get photocopies.
• Museum of the University of Alicante
• The University of Alicante has a modern building that is devoted to the Contemporary Art. It is not only a Museum for exhibitions, but also a centre for culture divulgation.
• The Museum of Alicante, commonly known as MUA, is opened Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
