Description
The course proposes to complement a theoretical overview of Spanish art with a practical approach to the works of art. Barcelona has a great variety and richness in its art, however this course will focus on those artists who have their main museum in the city, and who have an international prestige. These artists are: Gaudí, Picasso, Miró, Dalí and Tàpies. The course will be comprised primarily of lecture, presented in module form, supplemented with discussion, films, and online materials. There will also be visits to various museums throughout the city of Barcelona. These visits will be held during class time and participation in mandatory.
