Take advantage of the unique flavor Madrid has to offer. CEA offers a variety of
local immersion activities to match your interests. Whether you enjoy music
concerts, clubs, sports, cooking classes, language exchanges or something
entirely different, our resident staff can help you get involved in the local
culture. Here are just some examples.
Guided tour of Palacio Real
CEA will visit the Royal palace, Royal Armery and Royal Pharmacy, located in the historical side of the city. This is followed by a visit to the most traditional Chocolateria of Madrid, San Ginés, where students can enjoy our typical chocolate con churros, the most popular breakfast and “merienda” of Madrid. Students just love it!
Tapas Dinner and Flamenco Show
Students can enjoy an evening of typical Spanish tapas dinner in the heart of Madrid. A beautiful Flamenco show follows dinner in one of the most traditional “tablaos” of the city.
Walking tour of old historic Madrid and guided visit to Museo del Prado
This walking tour will take students through the old 18th century Madrid to see historical buildings like the Palacio de Comunicaciones, Banco de España, etc, followed by a guided visit to the famous El Prado Museum.
Intercambio (exchange)
Students can practice Spanish with locals interested in improving their English language skills. Students have the option of studying with students from their own university or with Madrileños from different universities.
Spanish Movie Night
Depending on current movie listings, CEA will arrange a movie night to see a Spanish movie.
