  • Be available to assist you with any difficulties or questions that may arise during your program;
  • Act as a liaison between you and the administration of the host institution;
  • Help you make a smooth transition into Spanish culture and educational system;
  • Closely monitor your academic progress; and
  • Organize a wide range of social and cultural activities.

Here's what Silvia has to say about Madrid

Come study in Madrid! It is a city that truly never sleeps. Madrid has everything to offer a student interested in living in and learning about a new culture. There are endless opportunities to visit museums, historical sites, architecture, art exhibitions, trade fairs, restaurants, discos, pubs, and more in this vibrant city. Its central location and excellent transportation connections make it the ideal spot to base yourself for travel to other parts of Spain and Europe.

The academics offered in CEA’s Madrid program are superb, catering to every single level of experience. The University Complutense has possibly the longest history of offering Spanish for foreigners, beginning in the early 1930’s. Their enthusiastic professors are all experienced in helping foreigners both learn the language and the culture of Spain.

For the sports-minded, the Sierra mountain range is only 40 minutes form Madrid, offering skiing in the winter and beautiful extensive hikes in the other seasons. And if you happen to be an avid skier and are thinking of passing a summer in Madrid, then you’ll enjoy visiting Europe’s largest indoor ski/snowboard slope at the Xánadu Shopping Center.

For the night owls, “la marcha madrileña” will keep you entertained well into the wee hours while offering you the chance to meet Spaniards your own age and practice the language as you discuss your interests.

Whatever your interests are, you will find that Madrid suits you, and you may never want to leave…just ask some of the CEA alumni that are still here!
