Pablo de Olavide University
Pablo de Olavide University was founded in 1997 and has a modern 345-acre campus located a short five miles from Seville's city center, making it easily accessible by bus. While the university is located outside the city center and does require a commute, it's campus setting offers numerous amenities and student services not often available in more centralized, urban campuses, including modern athletic, laboratory and technical facilities. While studying at Pablo, you may enroll in Spanish language courses in addition to electives in both English and Spanish. This diversity is appreciated by visiting students.
The university currently enrolls approximately 7,000 students and has an international student population of 500. Your courses will be offered through the Centro de Estudios para Extranjeros. The courses have been developed and are taught by professors from the university. The campus, the faculty and the academic program at Pablo de Olavide University provide you with a wonderful immersion experience and the unique opportunity to be a part of daily Spanish university life and student culture. University services available to CEA students include a university ID, computer labs, pen stack centralized library with wireless internet connections, cafeteria, and sports facilities.

Grading
The Spanish grading system is based on a scale of 10, as opposed to 100 in the US system. It would be inaccurate to merely multiply a Spanish grade by 10 to find its US equivalent. Also, please keep in mind that grading varies from subject to subject. For example, in mathematics a student may receive a 10 for completing all the problems correctly, whereas in the humanities, a 7 on an essay is a very acceptable grade. Grading in Spain can be severe and grades of 9 and 10 are quite rare. In addition to listing a numeric grade for each course, transcripts from Spanish universities list a verbal grade.
