Letter from the Executive Director

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear students, parents, and academic institutions:

All of us at Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) are fully committed to ensuring CEA students have safe and meaningful international experiences.

Chairman & CEO
Brian Boubek

Brian Boubek
Student Code of Conduct
All students participating in a CEA program are expected to abide by the CEA code of conduct.

We closely monitor the current world situation and are in daily contact with our resident staff in Europe, Latin America, and Australia. Our resident staff works with local authorities as well as other study abroad resident directors to stay abreast of events in their particular city and country and to provide the CEA headquarter office with up-to-date information. We also rely on information we receive from NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the study abroad community and the US State Department to make decisions that are in the best interests of the students and CEA.

Our Health and Safety Committee at CEA has developed a comprehensive emergency response plan that provides procedures for many different eventualities, from health issues to natural disasters. Our protocols for program cancellations and emergency evacuation conform to the protocol of the entire study abroad industry. CEA will only cancel a program if there is a State Department Travel Warning for that specific country. Recent travel warnings have been issued for select countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia; however, there have been no travel warnings for any of the countries where CEA hosts programs.

We have addressed Frequently Asked Questions on our website to provide information on cancellations, refunds, evacuation, and contact information. We have a webpage, Updates, dedicated to sharing information with students, parents and institutions as soon as we are aware. Additionally, we have also placed a public version of our emergency response plan on our website. If you would like to talk with us in more detail about our health and safety procedures, please call our office at 1-800-266-4441 or email us.

Sincerely,

Brian Boubek
Executive Director
