H1N1 Flu Update (Swine Flu)

April 28, 2009

CEA is monitoring the influenza situation very closely and is in contact with our staff in Mexico, international student exchange sources, and healthcare resources.

Our students in Mexico have been informed to do the following:

  • To take precautions per WHO recommendations: http://www.who.org
  • Stay indoors, wash hands often, use face masks when outdoors or in any groups, and comply with other healthcare recommendations.
  • Maintain internet contact for latest news and CEA communications and report any flu-like symptoms to healthcare workers.

We understand that schools in Mexico are closed, and we will be monitoring the situation as we prepare for Summer programs in Guadalajara.

We are continuing to monitor the following web links:
Mexico Travel Alert - Swine Flu Update - 04/27/2009
CDC Traveler's Health - Travel Notices
U.S. Embassy Mexico - Citizens Consular Services
