Below are some of the most commonly asked questions by study abroad students and advisors. If you

Where can I study abroad with CEA?
CEA offers programs in 24 cities in 14 countries including Argentina, Australia, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, South Africa, and Spain. Take a look at our Programs to discover the perfect CEA study abroad program for you.
Do I have to be a US citizen to study abroad?
At this time, we only offer our study abroad programs to US or Canadian citizens, students or
permanent residents. We currently do not have the resources to accommodate foreign students.
Do you offer any high school programs?
No, At this time, CEA does not offer high school programs.
Do you offer any graduate programs?
CEA programs focus primarily on undergraduate studies and do not currently offer any specific graduate programs. However, we do have recent college graduates who choose to participate in our programs upon completion of their studies. For more information on eligibility for CEA programs, see How to Apply.
Is there a minimum age requirement to study abroad with CEA?
All CEA programs require students to be at least 18 years of age by the start date of their selected

Does CEA offer internships?
CEA does indeed offer internship opportunities in multiple cities. These internships are for credit and are not paid internships. Find Internship Programs.
Does CEA offer any scholarships?
CEA awards scholarships for summer, fall and spring students. Student must be accepted into a CEA
program, meet scholarship eligibility requirements and submit all required materials in order to be
considered. Please note, scholarships are not designed to cover the cost of programs in their
entirety but rather are designed to help offset some of the costs of studying abroad. For more

What's included in the price of the program?
CEA offers all inclusive study abroad programs. Prices typically include tuition and fees, housing
and meal options, transfer credit, overseas staff, pre-departure information,
airport welcome reception, onsite orientation, immersion activities, excursions, volunteer
opportunities and superior customer service. Read more details on What's Included.
How much does the CEA program cost?
CEA program prices vary depending on the program destination and duration of stay. See Dates & Prices for information on specific program prices.
Can I use financial aid to study abroad?
CEA accepts most forms of financial aid as payment, although CEA cannot issue or process financial aid. You must coordinate the use of your financial aid award money with your home school's Financial Aid or Bursar's Office. Do I need a passport to study abroad?
Yes. CEA requires all students to have a current passport. In addition, most foreign universities require a student's passport information at least 45 days or more before classes begin. If you don't have a passport or if yours will expire soon, apply for or renew your passport as soon as you think you'll be studying abroad, as the process can take several weeks. We also recommend that your passport be valid for at least 6 months after the end date of your program. Other documents may also be required, depending on your nationality, duration of your stay and other factors. It is a student's responsibility to research and obtain all documentation required to enter and study in the country selected.
Do I need a visa to study abroad?
In many cases, the answer is yes. It is a student's responsibility to research and obtain the documentation required for entering and studying in a country within the timeline designated by its government. Requirements vary depending upon a student's nationality, duration of stay and other factors. Your CEA advisor can provide you with helpful tips to get you started on the process.
What are the application deadlines?
CEA applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis, meaning applications are assessed as
they arrive and are accepted after eligibility is verified. CEA suggests that students apply at least
several months prior to the start date of the program. Each program is assigned a program closure
date, after which applications will not be accepted. Likewise, CEA programs close based on enrolled
capacity being reached. Spaces in CEA programs cannot be guaranteed until students submit the
confirmation deposit.
Will my credits transfer?
Students are eligible to earn academic credits while studying abroad. Credit for courses taken in any CEA Program can usually be counted towards your degree, or towards graduation requirements. You must however, visit with your study abroad or academic advisor at your home school to discuss the credit transfer process and will most likely need to get your credits pre-approved. CEA cannot guarantee that your credits will transfer but we can support you in this process by offering course descriptions, syllabi and a devoted team of advisors designated to helping your school understand more about CEA programs. Is study abroad safe?
CEA has a devoted committee to address health and safety issues amongst study abroad students and the industry as a whole. We are confident that the processes and procedures we have established as well as the regular dialogue in which we engage with others in the industry will allow for immediate and appropriate response to any given health and/or safety issue affecting our students abroad.
