Realize you forgot your book at home? No worries, there are plenty of bookstores to scope out while in the Netherlands. With many of its population speaking English Amsterdam has many bookstores with English language books. Stop by one of the largest bookstores in the Netherlands, Scheltema, where it holds the largest collection of English-language books in the country. Or if you’re into Nature and landscaping visit the bookstore Architecture & Natura, where they have the books about nature and landscaping in many different languages.  Calling all foodies! Eating in the Netherlands can be an adventure, there is plenty to try when it comes to food, and even drinks. Moeders Restaurant in Amsterdam is a charming restaurant where the walls are covered in photos from customers who have enjoyed their traditional Dutch dishes along the Singelgracht canal. But if you’re feeling adventurous head out to Canvas, a trendy restaurant on one of the largest rooftop terraces in Amsterdam.

  • Museumplein Over 1,000 works by the Dutch impressionist Vincent Van Gogh are displayed in the Van Gogh Museum. Learn more about his history and take a closer look at his world-famous paintings.
  • Vondelpark How does outdoor theatre, live concerts, bars, restaurants, and 47 acres of park sound? If you’re even tempted a little, check out Amsterdam’s most popular green space, which hosts events year round.
  • Get Around on Two Wheels Join the biking culture in Amsterdam for a fun way to see the city and blend in with the locals. With more than 400 km of bicycle paths and some 200,000 bicycle racks throughout Amsterdam, biking is the perfect mode of transportation to school, out with friends, or just to explore.
  • Canal Belt Cruise Amsterdam’s UNESCO protected canal belt is best seen by cruise boat. Built in the 17th century to keep the sea at bay, the canals set the city apart from its European peers. Floating under bridges and viewing the city from a boat is a great trip to do during the day or night.
